Health Care Assistant – Urgent Care Location: York
Contract: 6–12 months (with possible extensions)
Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 18:00
• Saturday: 08:00 – 13:00

Pay Rate: £16.13 per hour (umbrella)

Role Overview Service Care Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join a busy Urgent Care team in York. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing essential clinical and administrative support to patients and clinicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform ECGs and phlebotomy (blood taking) accurately and efficiently.
• Carry out health checks, wound care, and wound dressing.
• Administer B12 injections as required.
• Assist clinicians in delivering high-quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records using SystmOne.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and health & safety standards.
• Support patients with dignity, compassion, and professionalism.
• Complete administrative tasks related to patient care when required.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant in a clinical setting.
• Competent in ECG and phlebotomy procedures.
• Must hold an NHS Smart Card.
• Proficient in using SystmOne.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
