About the role: Homeowner Services Officer
The Homeowner Services Officer will oversee leasehold, freehold, and shared ownership properties, acting as a specialist point of contact for homeowner enquiries and lease-related matters. Your responsibilities will include providing guidance on lease extensions, managing service charge enquiries, investigating lease breaches, and supporting lease enfranchisement processes. You will also work closely with legal teams, external partners, and customers to ensure smooth management and compliance.
Candidate Responsibilities of the Homeowner Services Officer
- Manage diverse property portfolios, including leasehold, freehold, and shared ownership properties
- Act as a primary contact for homeowner enquiries and lease-related issues
- Provide expert advice on lease extensions, assignments, consents, and enfranchisement
- Investigate and resolve lease breaches and covenant violations
- Respond to service charge queries, providing clear and accurate information
- Support lease extension claims and legal processes for leasehold arrangements
- Maintain detailed, compliant records of all transactions and interactions
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and external stakeholders
- Ensure all activities comply with legislation, including the Leasehold Reform Act 2002, Building Safety Act 2022, and Landlord and Tenant Act
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in leasehold management, shared ownership, or property services
- Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 and Building Safety Act 2022
- Confident in handling complex enquiries and providing advice on lease-related matters
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle for field activities
