Housing Compliance And Enforcement Officer (Contract)

Are you an experienced Housing Compliance and Enforcement Officer who is passionate about keeping homes safe, compliant and well managed? We are recruiting for a Housing Compliance And Enforcement Officer to join a local authority team on a contract basis, supporting compliance, inspections, and enforcement activity across housing standards.

Salary / Payrate

  • £18.00–£22.00 per hour (payrate dependent on experience and suitability)

Candidate Responsibilities
As a Housing Compliance And Enforcement Officer, your key duties will include:

  • Conducting inspections and investigating complaints related to housing standards and tenancy conditions
  • Identifying breaches of housing legislation, council policies, and service requirements
  • Taking appropriate enforcement action in line with statutory procedures and case law
  • Issuing notices, drafting reports, and maintaining accurate and timely case records
  • Working closely with landlords, tenants, and internal teams to drive compliance and resolution
  • Referring complex cases to senior officers and contributing to service improvements
  • Ensuring all activity is completed in accordance with relevant legislation, safeguarding and health & safety requirements
  • Representing the council professionally and confidently in meetings and correspondence
