Housing Paralegal

Service Care Legal are recruiting for a Housing Paralegal to join a busy South London Local Authority on an initial 3-month contract, with the potential to be extended. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established housing litigation team working on a varied caseload.

ROLE:                  Housing Paralegal
LCOATION:          South London / Hybrid
RATE:                   £26.77ph umbrella / £24.10ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £21.50ph PAYE exc. holiday pay
CONTRACT:        35 hours per week, 3-Month Contract (Potential Extension)

Please note that this role requires office attendance 1 or 2 days per week.

The Role 

• Manage your own caseload of rent arrears matters and warrant applications.
• Help reduce case backlogs and maintain accurate case tracking spreadsheets.
• Support lawyers on housing litigation, including disrepair, tenancy, unauthorised occupant and nuisance matters.
• Draft correspondence, issue court proceedings, prepare bundles, book counsel and assist with disclosure.

About You
 

• Previous experience within housing litigation is essential.
• CILEX qualification is preferred but not essential.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy caseload.
• Local authority experience is advantageous.
