JOINER – Local Authority Housing Repairs (Newcastle & North Tyneside)
Contract Length: 2 weeks (temp-to-perm) | Employment Type: Contract | Pay: £18.16 Ltd per hour (PAYE equivalent £15.58) | 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00

Are you an experienced Joiner looking for a fast-moving housing repairs role across Newcastle and North Tyneside? We’re recruiting a reliable Joiner for a Local Authority Housing Repairs team, working on both void and tenanted domestic properties. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with sociable working hours and the chance to secure long-term employment.

Candidate Responsibilities

As a Joiner, you will:

• Carry out responsive repairs within domestic properties to a high standard
• Complete refurbishment works to void properties
• Undertake kitchen and bathroom repairs and installations
• Work across tenanted and unoccupied properties across Newcastle and North Tyneside
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety requirements
• Provide excellent customer service when working in occupied homes
• Manage your workload independently and complete jobs efficiently

Required Skills & Experience

To succeed as a Joiner, you must have:

• NVQ Level 2 in Joinery
• Proven experience carrying out domestic property repairs and maintenance
• Experience within housing or social housing environments (desirable/required)
• Full UK driving licence
