Litigation Lawyer (Locum) – London (Contract)
Service Care Legal are working with a London-based Local Authority to recruit an experienced Litigation Lawyer for a busy legal team. This Litigation Lawyer contract is initially for 2 weeks, with the Local Authority’s legal requirements typically extending on a rolling basis. The role is office-based 2 days per week and offers an excellent opportunity to handle a varied and high-profile litigation caseload in a supportive in-house environment.

Pay / Rate

• £50–55 per hour (umbrella)
• £48.89 per hour PAYE (inc. holiday pay)
• £43.62 per hour PAYE (exc. holiday pay)
• 37 hours per week

Candidate Responsibilities
As a Litigation Lawyer, you will:

• Manage a broad caseload of civil litigation matters, including landlord & tenant disputes, debt recovery, contract disputes, injunctions, and enforcement
• Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to council departments on contentious issues as an expert Litigation Lawyer
• Conduct litigation proceedings from inception to conclusion, representing the council effectively (with advocacy opportunities where appropriate)
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and deliver commercially-focused guidance in your role as a Litigation Lawyer
• Work efficiently in a high-volume in-house environment while managing your own caseload independently
