Litigation Solicitor

Service Care Solutions are looking for a skilled Litigation Solicitor looking for an exciting temporary opportunity to work within the UK Government’s Scottish Legal Team.  We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Litigation Solicitor to join the Office of the Advocate General on a short-term contract. This position offers an excellent chance to develop your litigation skills, work on high-profile cases, and contribute to significant legal work across Scotland.

About the Role:
As the Litigation Solicitor - OAG, you will be involved in a diverse range of litigation cases for UK Government Departments in areas including immigration, Human Rights, constitutional law, and equality law. Your primary focus will be on Court of Session litigation, particularly judicial review work, with occasional cases before the Upper Tribunal. This role provides an engaging environment, working alongside counsel and legal professionals, offering valuable exposure to UK Government policy and operational legal matters.

Candidate Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice and analysis on complex legal points across a spectrum of areas relevant to UK Government litigation.
• Assist in managing a busy caseload while working under tight deadlines and pressure.
• Instruct Counsel to support litigation strategies and case progression.
• Develop your skills in judicial review proceedings and Court of Session work.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Scottish qualified Solicitor/Lawyer with Proven Litigation experience within a Scottish legal context.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex legal issues.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently.

• Salary: £63,758 - Daily LTD rate of:£334.77 - PAYR (INC) £284.00
