We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Child Protection Social Worker to join a dynamic team in Barrow-in-Furness on a 3-month locum contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in safeguarding children and supporting vulnerable families ❤️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

🧩 Key Responsibilities:
📁 Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need plans, and care proceedings
🧠 Undertake comprehensive assessments, risk analyses, and develop effective care plans
🚨 Conduct Section 47 investigations and participate in strategy discussions
📝 Prepare high-quality reports for court and attend legal proceedings as required
🤝 Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve the best outcomes
💻 Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements

✅ Requirements:
🎓 Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
📊 Minimum 3 years’ post-qualifying experience within Child Protection or Safeguarding
📚 Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004
⏱️ Ability to manage a demanding caseload and work independently
🗣️ Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
