Service Care Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Logistics Team Leader to join a reputable logistics operation in Gloucester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic supervisor or team leader committed to delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.

Job Title: Logistics Team Leader
Location: Gloucester
Employment Type: Contract (2 weeks) with potential for permanent placement
Hours: Full Time (37 hours per week)
Pay Rate: £17.85 PAYE per hour (excluding holiday), £23.01 Umbrella per hour


Key Responsibilities of the Logistics Team Leader:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of drivers, including recruitment, training, mentoring, and performance reviews
  • Plan and allocate daily workloads to meet operational demands and service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Oversee the daily running of logistics operations, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely and efficiently
  • Monitor team performance, identify areas for improvement, and support staff development
  • Collaborate with internal departments to optimise operational processes
  • Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints professionally
  • Track KPIs and implement continuous service enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and company policies
  • Act as a keyholder responsible for site security when required
  • Offer operational support across different teams as needed

What We Are Looking For in a Logistics Team Leader:

  • Experience leading or supervising a logistics, transport, or operational team
  • Proven staff performance management, delegation, and coaching skills
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities in busy environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of monitoring operational KPIs and performance metrics
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and make effective decisions
  • Flexible approach to adapt to changing business needs
  • GCSEs in English and Mathematics (or equivalent)
  • Recognised management qualification or supervisory experience (desirable)
  • Full UK driving license is essential
