Maintenance Surveyor (Contract - 2 Weeks)

Are you an experienced Maintenance Surveyor looking for an immediate contract opportunity? We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Surveyor to join our Direct Services Team, providing essential responsive surveying services for Southern Housing. This contract role offers a fantastic chance to work across Tower Hamlets, ensuring high standards of property maintenance and compliance. If you hold a full clean UK driving licence and have a background in building surveying within maintenance environments, this might be the perfect role for you.

Job Responsibilities: Maintenance Surveyor

As a Maintenance Surveyor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing responsive repairs through site inspections; taking corrective actions and reporting progress to the Contract Manager.
  • Analyzing building defects, proposing remedial solutions, and preparing detailed specifications that meet current legislative standards.
  • Obtaining quotations and estimates in adherence to procurement procedures.
  • Maintaining high standards of communication and customer care with residents, staff, leaseholders, managing agencies, and property owners.
  • Ensuring work is completed within budget, scrutinizing quotations, variation requests, and proposed specifications to achieve value for money.
  • Responding to residents’ enquiries and providing timely updates via telephone, email, and text messages.
  • Ensuring all work complies with relevant codes of practice, building regulations, health and safety legislation.

Candidate Requirements

To be successful as a Maintenance Surveyor, you should possess:

  • Experience as a building surveyor in a maintenance environment, with skills in pre, mid, and post inspections.
  • Knowledge of current building regulations, codes of practice, health and safety legislation.
  • Strong understanding of construction and design-related defects and remedies.
  • Familiarity with procurement law and contract management.
  • Proficiency in using IT tools such as Excel, Word, and company-specific software for detailed reporting and communication.
