MOD - Driver - Driver Escort - National - Skill Zone 3

A major Defence logistics operation is seeking skilled and safety-focused drivers to join our team on a Contract basis as MOD - Driver - Driver Escort - National - Skill Zone 3. This role supports the transportation of ITC personnel and general stores in line with MOD transport directives and civil law, with the primary focus on coach work and safe passenger transport across the UK.

Candidate Responsibilities

  • Operate as MOD - Driver - Driver Escort - National - Skill Zone 3 driving White fleet and green fleet vehicles supporting CIC Training
  • Transport recruits to and from ranges and exercises including (but not limited to) local locations, Otterburn, Warcop, Garelochead, Strensall, Stanta, and others
  • Transport recruits to CIC activities such as Leeds Armouries and the National Arboretum Staffordshire
  • Carry out first and last parade servicing on all vehicles, including refuelling and internal/external cleaning at the end of each detail
  • Record faults/defects in the F1005 vehicle defects register
  • Inform Leading Hand/Chargehand or the Deputy Transport Manager of issues during MOD - Driver - Driver Escort - National - Skill Zone 3 duties
  • Initiate vehicle recovery procedures during breakdowns; undertake the Traffic Accident (FMT 3) process where appropriate
  • When not on driving details, assist with minor vehicle defect rectification and complete maintenance tasks allocated by the Leading Hand
  • Work Mon–Fri, any 8 hours per day (37 hours per week) on shift basis with notice; additional hours may be required

Requirements

  • Hold a Cat D licence (essential) for coach work (approximately 90% of duties)
