We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Modern Matron to provide visible clinical leadership across Whitby community nursing team. Role: Band 8a Modern Matron
Location: Whitby (North Yorkshire)
Contract: 3 months
Pay: £38.00p/h - £62.00p/h Ltd.
Hours: Full time but will consider part time for the right candidate

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership to aligned services including the community ward and community nursing team.
- Ensure high professional standards and safe, effective service delivery using evidence-based practice.
- Contribute to patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support the senior leadership team in implementing strategic objectives.
- Monitor service performance and drive improvement initiatives across teams.
- Lead, motivate, and inspire staff to embrace change and deliver high-quality care.
- Work collaboratively across organisational boundaries, fostering multi-professional partnerships.
Essential:
- Current Adult Nursing registration (NMC/HCPC live register)
- Masters level education or significant advanced knowledge/experience
- Leadership experience at an advanced level with proven impact on service delivery
- Strong understanding of clinical standards, audit, policy, and legislation
- Effective communication skills at all levels, including strategic leadership
- Good project and time management skills
- Ability to commute between multiple sites as required
- Non-medical prescribing qualification
- Teaching qualification
- Specialist Practice in District Nursing or advanced/expert clinical qualification
- Membership of relevant professional networks at local, regional, or national level
