About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and reliable MOT Tester to join our team. You will be responsible for carrying out MOT tests on a range of vehicles, ensuring all work is completed to DVSA standards and procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified MOT professional who takes pride in precision, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct MOT tests on Class 4 and/or 7 vehicles in line with DVSA regulations.
- Complete all MOT documentation and certification accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain up-to-date MOT records using the DVSA MOT testing system.
- Identify and report vehicle faults, defects, or advisory issues clearly and professionally.
- Support colleagues with general servicing, repairs, and diagnostics when required.
- Adhere to health and safety requirements and maintain a clean, organised work environment.
- Keep tools and equipment maintained and calibrated.
- Stay up to date with DVSA standards, procedures, and updates.
Essential:
- Valid MOT Tester Qualification (Class 4 and/or 7) issued by DVSA.
- Full, current UK driving licence.
- Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and maintenance.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Experience in a main dealer or independent garage environment.
- Additional skills in diagnostics, mechanical, or electrical repairs.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving ability.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, honest, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Committed to ongoing professional development.
- Able to work efficiently under pressure without compromising accuracy.
