We are currently recruiting for a Mou - Children's Social Care - Advanced Practitioner to join a dedicated team within our Assessment and Safeguarding Service. About the Role: Mou - Children's Social Care - Advanced Practitioner

As a Mou - Children's Social Care - Advanced Practitioner, you will play a vital role in assessing and safeguarding children subject to Child in Need, Child Protection, and Care Plans. Your expertise will help support families, ensuring children’s safety and well-being through thorough assessments and intervention strategies.

This contract role offers up to £35 per hour depending on experience, with the possibility of transition into a Family Help Social Worker position in line with upcoming social care reforms scheduled for October 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for ambitious social workers to develop their skills within a supportive team environment.

Candidate Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to determine needs and risks
  • Lead and manage Child in Need, Child Protection, and Cared-For plans, ensuring effective intervention
  • Collaborate closely with multi-agency partners to safeguard children and promote welfare
  • Maintain accurate, detailed records and write legal social work reports
  • Support the transition of the role towards a Family Help Social Worker, aligning with future service reforms
  • Participate in supervision and team meetings, contributing to service improvement and best practices
  • Keep up-to-date with legislation and policy developments relevant to children's social care
  • Ideally, apply experience of PLO (Public Law Outline) and Court Work to effectively handle legal proceedings

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker (ASYE, HCPC registration required)
  • Proven experience in children’s social care, particularly with assessments and safeguarding
  • Knowledge of PLO and Court processes is desirable
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle complex cases confidently
