Are you an experienced Senior Social Worker looking to make a real difference in children’s lives? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Social Worker to join the Children in Our Care team on a contract basis. About the Role:
The Senior Social Worker in Children’s Social Care will be responsible for managing a caseload of children looked after by the local authority. You will be instrumental in safeguarding children, devising care plans, and working towards permanence through reunification, long-term care, or adoption. Your role will involve building meaningful relationships with children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard and reflected in all planning and decision-making processes.
You will attend statutory reviews, court proceedings, and work closely with multi-agency teams to deliver high-quality, child-centred practice. Maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to statutory requirements is essential. This role offers a chance to influence positive outcomes for children while developing your skills within a supportive team environment.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of children in care, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times
- Complete thorough assessments and develop tailored care plans
- Review and update care plans in collaboration with children, families, and partner agencies
- Attend statutory reviews and court proceedings, providing expert written and oral reports
- Build trusting relationships with children and young people, ensuring their voice informs all decisions
- Safeguard children through risk assessments and effective management of safeguarding concerns
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency teams to promote seamless service delivery
- Maintain accurate, timely case records complying with statutory and organisational standards
- Promote positive outcomes, ensuring children’s needs are always prioritised
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker status with UK registration (HCPC or equivalent)
- Significant experience in children’s social care, particularly in working with children in care
- Strong understanding of statutory frameworks and safeguarding procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to child-centred practice and continuous professional development
