Candidate Responsibilities
As a Childrens Social Care - Social Worker, your main responsibilities will include:
- Implementing the regional Pathfinder Hub initiatives to support prospective foster carers effectively.
- Providing sound advice and guidance to prospective foster carers, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Demonstrating excellent knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and applying this legislation in your daily work.
- Working collaboratively with children, foster carers, parents, and other professionals to promote the welfare of children.
- Utilizing your experience in fostering, kinship, or adoption to match children with suitable carers.
- Contributing to family finding and matching processes to ensure children are placed with appropriate and caring families.
- Maintaining accurate case records and completing documentation in line with organisational standards.
- Attending team meetings, case conferences, and case reviews to ensure ongoing communication and coordination.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Proven experience working within fostering, kinship, or adoption fields.
- Sound knowledge of the Children Act 1989.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Current DBS check and relevant registration with social work governing bodies.
