Neighbourhood Assistant – Temporary Contract – Slough

Are you experienced in housing administration and passionate about supporting local communities? We are currently seeking a dedicated Neighbourhood Assistant to join a busy Local Authority Housing Team in Slough. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a professional team delivering high-quality housing services while developing your career in social housing.

About the Role

As a Neighbourhood Assistant, you will provide essential administrative and tenancy management support to ensure smooth operations across various housing functions. Your contributions will help improve residents’ living experiences and uphold the standards of the Housing Team.

Key Responsibilities of the Neighbourhood Assistant

  • Provide administrative support for tenancy management, estate management, anti-social behaviour, and tenancy sustainment services
  • Manage diaries, correspondence, and telephone enquiries, alongside maintaining electronic records, keys, and fobs
  • Raise purchase orders, process invoices, and support financial administration processes
  • Prepare tenancy documentation, arrange property viewings, and complete tenancy sign-ups with identity checks
  • Assist with court preparation for tenancy enforcement, access applications, and anti-social behaviour cases
  • Maintain accurate tenancy records on housing management systems such as NEC, including tenancy changes, audits, and estate inspections
  • Support garage and parking space administration, void processes, mutual exchanges, and partnership working across council services

Candidate Requirements for the Neighbourhood Assistant

  • Previous experience in housing administration, neighbourhood services, or tenancy support, ideally within a Local Authority or Housing Association
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and housing management systems such as NEC
  • Good understanding of social housing and tenancy management processes
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organisational skills
  • Experience with financial administration, including invoice processing and purchase orders

Contract & Work Schedule

  • Contract Length: 2 weeks
  • Working Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
