Candidate Responsibilities for the Neighbourhood Officer Role

As a Neighbourhood Officer, your duties will include:

  • Managing a designated patch to deliver proactive, resident-focused housing services
  • Carrying out estate inspections to ensure communal areas are well-maintained
  • Coordinating repairs and routine maintenance with contractors and internal teams
  • Investigating and managing anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases and tenancy breaches
  • Supporting residents with tenancy sustainment and signposting to relevant services
  • Handling resident enquiries, complaints, and complex casework professionally
  • Ensuring full compliance with policies, procedures, and housing legislation
  • Building strong relationships within diverse communities to foster positive living environments

The Ideal Candidate for the Neighbourhood Officer Role

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Previous experience as a Neighbourhood Officer, Housing Officer, or in Tenancy Management within a Housing Association or Local Authority
  • Strong knowledge of tenancy management and housing legislation
  • Proven experience in estate inspections and coordinating communal repairs
  • Ability to handle ASB and complex resident cases effectively
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse communities
  • Good prioritisation skills to manage workload efficiently
