Are you a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) or Mental Health Practitioner looking to make a meaningful impact in children’s mental health services? We are seeking a passionate Notts CAMHS Crisis Staff Nurse to join the Nottinghamshire NHS Foundation Trust’s CAMHS Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment (CRHT) and Liaison Team. This is a fantastic 2-week contract opportunity designed to support young individuals experiencing acute mental health crises.

Position: Notts CAMHS Crisis Staff Nurse (Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse / CAMHS)
Location: Pebble Bridge, Hopewood Hospital, Foster Drive, Nottingham NG5 3FL
Contract Length: 2 weeks
Pay Rate: £27 per hour PAYE / LTD – inclusive of holiday pay and NI, with uplifts for weekends and night shifts


Candidate Responsibilities for Notts CAMHS Crisis Staff Nurse

As a Notts CAMHS Crisis Staff Nurse, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive mental health assessments for children and young people
  • Performing risk assessments and developing risk management strategies
  • Creating and implementing individual care and safety plans
  • Delivering crisis intervention and brief therapeutic support
  • Providing home treatment to prevent psychiatric hospitalisation
  • Carrying out liaison assessments within Acute Hospitals and A&E departments
  • Collaborating with MDT colleagues, families, schools, GPs, and social services
  • Ensuring accurate clinical documentation and care planning
  • Participating in supervision and contributing to service development initiatives
  • Safeguarding children and young people throughout all safeguarding protocols

Essential Requirements for Notts CAMHS Crisis Staff Nurse

  • Valid and current Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) registration with the NMC
  • Experience working within CAMHS or Crisis Mental Health Services
  • Strong assessment, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to perform comprehensive risk assessments and safety planning
  • Confidence to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred for community travel)
