Are you seeking an exciting opportunity to work within the nuclear industry? We are currently recruiting for a Nuclear Site Support contractor to join a dynamic team on a 13-month contract. This role offers a chance to contribute to critical operations at a secure nuclear site, supporting logistics and safety standards.
Job Overview:
The Nuclear Site Support role involves assisting with the handling, logging, and moving of large concrete boxes within a secure operational environment. Working under strict safety protocols, the successful candidate will support the logistics process, maintain accurate records, and assist with basic maintenance activities. This is a vital role within a high-security nuclear setting, requiring professionalism, adaptability, and a safety-conscious mindset.
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Log and record the movement of large concrete boxes (approx. 2 tonnes each) into the storage facility.
- Support logistics operations by moving waste or materials as directed.
- Rotate weekly between different operational tasks, including movement and handling of waste, and basic maintenance.
- Follow health and safety procedures, including wearing hazard suits when required.
- Assist with the transfer of resources from logistics to storage, aiming for approximately 8 boxes per week.
- Maintain accurate logs within the systems for audit and safety purposes.
- Support team members with training as needed, including crane operation and forklift driving.
Candidate Requirements:
- Essential: Ideally hold a crane driver certification (training provided if needed).
- Desirable: Forklift truck experience, with relevant licences or tickets (training can be provided if not).
- Must undergo medical screening due to the nature of the work.
- Ability to work in a high-security, safety-critical environment.
- Proficiency in basic lifting and handling operations, with approximately three months of training to develop necessary skills.
Benefits:
- Competitive pay rate: PAYE - £16.31 per hour; UMB - £22.17 per hour.
