Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with disabilities? Medway Council is seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join our 0–18 Disability Service, supporting children and families to live safer, more independent lives.
About the RoleAs an Occupational Therapist within our Equipment and Adaptations team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centred interventions. Using a strengths-based approach, you will carry out specialist assessments, apply clinical reasoning, and identify tailored solutions to support independence, safety, and wellbeing.
You will work creatively with a range of equipment, enablement techniques, and housing adaptations—from minor adjustments to major works—making best use of resources such as Disabled Facilities Grants. Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver holistic support that improves quality of life for children, young people, and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake high-quality Occupational Therapy assessments for children and young people aged 0–18
  • Recommend and implement appropriate equipment and adaptations
  • Use clinical reasoning to develop effective, personalised intervention plans
  • Work in partnership with families, carers, and multi-agency professionals
  • Promote independence, safety, and inclusion within the community
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and safe working practices
Essential Requirement
  • Must have a valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle

About You
