The Role – Key Responsibilities
As a Outreach Worker, your duties will include:
- Outreach wihtin the community, trying to speak the hardest to reach service users
- Engage with individuals in community settings and build trusting relationships
- Provide harm reduction advice and support, including overdose awareness (e.g. use of Naloxone)
- Carry out basic assessments of need and risk
- Support access to treatment, healthcare, housing, and other services
- Offer practical and emotional support in a non-judgemental way
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience within the Substance Misuse or Recovery field
- Strong understanding of drug and alcohol-related issues
- Experience in key working, care planning, and caseload management
- Ability to engage individuals with complex needs
- Excellent communication and motivational skills
- Enhanced DBS
