Planning Lawyer

Service Care Solutions is working in partnership with Gloucestershire County Council to recruit an experienced Planning Lawyer to join their well-established Legal Services team on a locum basis.
 
Role: Planning Lawyer
Location: Gloucestershire (Remote Working Available)
Umbrella Rate: £50 - £55ph
PAYE Inc. Rate: £43.61 - £47.96ph
Contract: 3 months ongoing
 
Your responsibilities will include:

• Advise on planning matters, including Section 106 Agreements, Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), and Section 38 and Section 278 Highways Agreements.
• Draft, negotiate, and complete Section 106 Agreements for housing and wider development schemes.
• Represent and support the Council at planning inquiries, providing advocacy and defending the Council's position on county planning obligation contributions.
• There is no requirement to provide Planning Committee cover as part of this role.

Candidate Requirements:

• A qualified Solicitor or Barrister with significant experience working as a Planning Lawyer within a local authority environment.
• Strong expertise in Section 106 planning obligations; Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG); and knowledge of Section 38 and Section 278 Highways Agreements.
• Proven advocacy experience, with the ability to represent a local authority at planning inquiries.
