Play Worker (Contract – 2 Weeks)

We are recruiting for a Play Worker to support a vibrant childcare and play environment for a short-term contract lasting 2 weeks. This role is ideal for someone experienced in creating safe, engaging activities and supporting children’s wellbeing through play.

As a Play Worker, you’ll be working as part of an established team, ensuring children are encouraged, supervised, and included in age-appropriate play, while maintaining professional safeguarding standards.

Play Worker – Candidate Responsibilities

• Support children through structured and unstructured play activities, encouraging confidence and social interaction
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment in line with safeguarding and health & safety procedures
• Monitor behaviour and support positive engagement, using appropriate guidance and consistent boundaries
• Assist with daily routines, activity set-up/clear-down, and child-centred learning through play
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively with the wider team
• Follow all policies relating to attendance, incident reporting, and risk management

Play Worker – Required Skills

• Experience as a Youth Worker (or closely related childcare/youth support role)
• Strong commitment to safeguarding, child protection, and professional conduct
• Confident engaging children through activities, play, and positive role-modelling
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment
