Location: HMP Springfield
Pay Rate: £159.38 PAYE per hour / £205 LTD per hour 
Overtime: Time ½ (weekends), Double Time (bank holidays)

About the Role:

You’ll be working in a secure prison environment where your work directly impacts safety, security, and daily operations.

HMP Springfield operates like a self-contained city. Every system matters—and when something fails, it has immediate consequences. Your job is to keep critical mechanical and plumbing systems running reliably.

You’ll be part of a Facilities Maintenance team responsible for maintaining infrastructure that supports prisoners, staff, and visitors every day.


Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out planned and reactive plumbing and mechanical maintenance
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs efficiently
• Supporting the safe operation of water systems and mechanical infrastructure
• Working alongside multi-skilled trades (electricians, carpenters, painters, etc.)
• Following strict health & safety and security procedures at all times

Essential skills and experience:

• NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Solid understanding of Health & Safety practices
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work in a structured, secure environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
