Practice Nurse

Practice Nurse – Ad-Hoc Locum Sessions | £30/hr | York & Surrounding Areas Service Care Solutions is currently recruiting for an experienced Practice Nurse to support a number of GP surgeries across York and the surrounding areas on an ad-hoc locum basis. Role Details

• Location: York and surrounding areas
• Rate: £30 per hour (LTD)
• Contract Type: Long-Term Locum
• Session Type: Ad-Hoc (Flexible Scheduling)
• System Used: SystmOne
• Shift Availability:
  • Weekdays: GP Surgery (Monday to Friday)
  • Evenings & Weekends: GP Out-of-Hours (OOH)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct chronic disease management clinics (e.g. asthma, diabetes, hypertension)
• Perform cervical cytology, immunisations, wound care, and travel vaccinations
• Deliver safe, evidence-based, patient-centred care in line with NHS and local guidelines
• Work both autonomously and collaboratively within the wider practice team

Candidate Requirements

• NMC Registered Nurse (RGN)
• Proven experience working in GP surgery settings (essential)
• Up-to-date clinical competencies (e.g. cytology, immunisations)
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• NHS Smartcard
