About the Role
As a Private Client Solicitor / Chartered Legal Executive, you will be responsible for handling both routine and complex private client matters, including wills, LPAs (Living Powers of Attorney), Estates, trusts, and Court of Protection cases. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong client care skills, excellent technical knowledge, and a proactive approach to business development and networking. You will work predominantly autonomously, undertaking most of your own administration with support when necessary, ensuring delivery of first-class service to clients. Occasional travel across Somerset may be required, so a full driving license and vehicle ownership are essential.

Candidate Responsibilities

• Manage a varied private client caseload, including wills, LPAs, and estate administration
• Provide expert legal advice and excellent client care to build lasting relationships
• Assist with trust matters and Court of Protection cases (beneficial but not essential)
• Participate in marketing and networking activities to develop the department
• Work autonomously, supporting the firm’s growth and reputation in the region
• Support training and development to stay abreast of private client legal updates
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to team success

Candidate Skills & Experience

• 1-2 years PQE as a Private Client solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
• Proven experience handling private client work with attention to detail
• Strong communication, networking, and client-facing skills
• Ability to work independently and manage own caseload effectively
• Accreditation with Solicitors for the Elderly or STEP membership is advantageous
• Full driving license and vehicle ownership required
