LOCATION: St Albans (Hybrid – 2 days working from home, 3 days in the office)
HOURS: 37 hours per week
DURATION: 6 months, rolling contract
PAY RATE: £30.36 per hour

Are you a qualified Probation Officer looking for a hybrid role in St Albans? Service Care Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a probation service for an experienced Probation Officer to join the team on a contract basis, with the flexibility of home working built in.

This is a strong opportunity for candidates with experience in ISP assessments, Parole Reports, and remote case management who are searching for their next Probation Officer role in St Albans and the surrounding area.

Probation Officer Responsibilities

• Conduct ISP (Intensive Supervision and Monitoring) assessments and reports
• Prepare and support Parole Reports in collaboration with Supervising Probation Officers (SPOs)
• Manage case files remotely, ensuring full compliance with probation protocols
• Attend the St Albans office as part of the hybrid working pattern for cover duties and team meetings
• Support offenders and help ensure public safety through effective supervision
• Carry out other duties as directed by SPOs, including reasonable additional tasks at a similar level

Probation Officer Requirements

• PQF (Probation Qualification Framework) Graduate Diploma or Honours Degree in Community Justice, or an equivalent recognised qualification
• Proven experience as a Probation Officer, including ISPs and Parole Reports
• Experience using probation service case management systems, including OASys
• Comfortable working independently in a remote or hybrid capacity
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with a sound understanding of probation service compliance standards
