Service Care Solutions are recruiting experienced Probation Officers to join Lancashire’s Family Safeguarding Teams as Domestic Abuse Officers (DAOs).
This is a unique opportunity to use your probation experience within a multi-disciplinary approach to safeguarding children and strengthening families, working alongside social workers, psychologists, recovery workers, domestic abuse practitioners and other specialist professionals.
The Role As a Domestic Abuse Officer, you will work directly with parents/carers who have demonstrated abusive behaviour, with the aim of reducing risk and breaking the cycle of domestic abuse.
Key responsibilities will include:
Experience of working with domestic abuse, perpetrators and/or families is highly desirable.
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be able to meet the requirements of an Essential Car User post, subject to reasonable adjustments where applicable.
Priority locations: Burnley, Pendle (Nelson & Colne), Lancaster, Preston, Hyndburn/Ribble Valley, Chorley/Skelmersdale and Fylde Coast.

- Conducting detailed, evidence-based risk assessments using probation systems and assessment tools.
- Working directly with perpetrators to identify behaviours, triggers and areas of need.
- Delivering tailored interventions, including the Better Me, Better Us programme.
- Using motivational interviewing and strength-based approaches to encourage sustainable behavioural change.
- Working collaboratively with social workers and wider Family Safeguarding professionals.
- Contributing to safeguarding and risk management plans, including where appropriate MAPPA and MARAC processes.
- Monitoring progress and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children remains central to all work.
Experience of working with domestic abuse, perpetrators and/or families is highly desirable.
