About the Procurement Lawyer Role
The Procurement Lawyer will be responsible for managing a wide-ranging procurement law caseload across various local authority sectors. The successful candidate will work closely with teams to provide expert legal advice on contracts, governance, commercial risk, and procurement challenges. This contract role is suitable for lawyers with approximately 5 years of PQE, who possess a proven track record of handling extensive and varied procurement cases autonomously. Attendance at the office once a week is required to facilitate collaboration and client engagement.
Candidate Responsibilities for the Procurement Lawyer
- Managing a diverse procurement law caseload within local authority contexts
- Drafting and reviewing procurement contracts and agreements
- Advising on governance policies, commercial risks, and compliance matters
- Providing expert legal advice to local authority clients and internal teams
- Working independently with minimal supervision and demonstrating sound judgment
Candidate Requirements for the Procurement Lawyer
- Approximately 5 years of PQE in procurement law
- Proven experience working for local authorities or in private practice with local authority clients
- Strong legal expertise in contracts, procurement, and governance
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a broad caseload effectively
- Office attendance once a week is mandatory
