💷 £305 PAYE £400 Umbrella LTD (Inside IR35)
📅 Contract: 9–12 Months

Our client, a leading Local Authority (LA) in Cambridgeshire, is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of major highways maintenance and associated infrastructure programmes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an accomplished project professional with a strong local authority and highways background to join a high-performing team delivering critical infrastructure improvements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of highway maintenance and infrastructure projects, ensuring successful delivery from planning through to completion.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing multiple highway maintenance and infrastructure projects simultaneously
• Developing and delivering programmes of work to challenging deadlines
• Coordinating contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders
• Managing project budgets and resources effectively
• Leading stakeholder engagement with elected members, parish councils, and local communities
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within agreed timescales
• Monitoring project performance and reporting on progress
• Supporting strategic planning and programme development activities

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Significant experience working within a Local Authority environment
• Extensive project management experience across highways maintenance and infrastructure projects
• Experience delivering and developing highway maintenance programmes
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging with elected members and parish councils
• Demonstrable experience managing contractors and holding suppliers accountable
• Experience managing budgets and complex programmes of work
• The ability to work under pressure and deliver against demanding timescales
• Ideally, previous experience working within Cambridgeshire
• A minimum of 10 years' experience within highway maintenance
