Our client, a leading Local Authority (LA) in Cambridgeshire, is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of major highways maintenance and associated infrastructure programmes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an accomplished project professional with a strong local authority and highways background to join a high-performing team delivering critical infrastructure improvements.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of highway maintenance and infrastructure projects, ensuring successful delivery from planning through to completion.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing multiple highway maintenance and infrastructure projects simultaneously
- Developing and delivering programmes of work to challenging deadlines
- Coordinating contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- Managing project budgets and resources effectively
- Leading stakeholder engagement with elected members, parish councils, and local communities
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within agreed timescales
- Monitoring project performance and reporting on progress
- Supporting strategic planning and programme development activities
- Significant experience working within a Local Authority environment
- Extensive project management experience across highways maintenance and infrastructure projects
- Experience delivering and developing highway maintenance programmes
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging with elected members and parish councils
- Demonstrable experience managing contractors and holding suppliers accountable
- Experience managing budgets and complex programmes of work
- The ability to work under pressure and deliver against demanding timescales
- Ideally, previous experience working within Cambridgeshire
- A minimum of 10 years' experience within highway maintenance
