Job Title: our client Service Officer (PSO) – HMP Humber & HMP Doncaster

Are you an experienced criminal justice professional seeking a rewarding role in offender management? We are currently recruiting Our client Service Officers (PSOs) for fixed-term contracts at HMP Humber and HMP Doncaster. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to public protection, rehabilitation, and reducing reoffending while working within a dedicated team. Our client Service Officer (PSO) – Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of low to medium risk offenders, supporting wider offender management teams.
  • Conduct assessments, develop and implement Risk Management Plans.
  • Prepare detailed reports for courts and criminal justice agencies.
  • Supervise individuals on community orders, suspended sentences, or transitioning from custody.
  • Maintain accurate case records using IT systems within agreed timeframes.
  • Make effective referrals to support services and monitor progress through prison, home, and community visits.
  • Support and deliver structured interventions and programmes, including mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities for children and vulnerable adults.
  • Foster pro-social behaviour through positive role modelling and challenge anti-social attitudes.
  • Collaborate with offender managers, prison staff, service providers, and external agencies to ensure effective case management.
  • Provide operational cover and support team colleagues when needed.

Candidate Requirements & Desirable Skills

  • Experience working within criminal justice, social care, safeguarding, housing, or related environments.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment, safeguarding, and professional boundaries.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills with a focus on managing priorities.
  • Competent IT skills and experience with maintaining detailed records.
  • Resilient, organised, and committed to supporting offender rehabilitation.
  • Ability to work confidently with diverse individuals, exercising sound judgement.
