QSW - Assessment And Intervention Team (Contract – 6 Months)
Chichester | Full time (office-based during duty week; mixture of office/hybrid with flexibility to work from home)
We are seeking an experienced QSW - Assessment And Intervention Team professional to join a dedicated social work team in Chichester on a 6-month contract. This role is focused on high-quality assessment, intervention, and safeguarding practice to achieve improved outcomes for children and families.
Payrate: £38.52/hr (MoC-compliant; rates may be capped depending on competency level)
Please note: While up to £42.00/hr may be available for those assessed at ASW level, your requested rate may not be the rate offered following interview competency review.
Candidate responsibilities
- Undertake high-quality assessments and risk analysis as a QSW - Assessment And Intervention Team practitioner
- Develop and implement care plans, and where appropriate, carry out child protection investigations
- Work directly with children and families to identify needs, strengths, and safety concerns
- Prevent unnecessary separation by driving proportionate interventions and timely decision-making
- Ensure children and young people are safeguarded in line with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
- Demonstrate strong multi-agency working with partner services to support effective outcomes
- Maintain clear records and evidence-based practice throughout the case lifecycle

Essential requirements for QSW - Assessment And Intervention Team
- Minimum 3 years post-qualified direct (permanent) employment experience in LA children’s social care in England
- Recent frontline / child protection experience and strong assessment skills to identify risk
- Car driver (required) and willingness to drive around the western area of the county
- Ability to provide two detailed practice-based references on the DfE template
