Recovery Practitioner - Greenwich

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals facing substance misuse challenges? We are seeking a dedicated Recovery Practitioner to join our team in Greenwich on a 2-week contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality drug and alcohol services, helping service users towards recovery and better health outcomes.

Recovery Practitioner - Greenwich Responsibilities

As a Recovery Practitioner - Greenwich, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering person-centred, low-threshold services tailored to the diverse needs of service users and their significant others
  • Managing a caseload and conducting assessments, evidence-based interventions, recovery planning, and aftercare
  • Providing psychosocial one-to-one and group interventions, including harm reduction advice, overdose prevention, blood-borne virus education, and needle & syringe programmes
  • Supporting individuals to access education, employment, and health and wellbeing activities
  • Enabling peer mentors, volunteers, and service user representatives to actively participate in services
  • Identifying risks and taking appropriate safeguarding actions in line with organisational policies
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary review meetings and maintaining accurate, timely records using designated case management systems
  • Working flexibly across multiple sites and peripathetically when required

Candidate Requirements for the Recovery Practitioner - Greenwich Role

The successful Recovery Practitioner - Greenwich will possess:

  • Passion and understanding of working with substance misuse or socially excluded groups
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong teamworking, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience delivering services to individuals with complex needs, including assessments and care planning
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, case management systems (Nebula, System One, or Theseus), and digital platforms
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and regulatory requirements, including CQC standards, GDPR, and health and social care regulations
  • NVQ/QCF/RCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or a commitment to complete this within one year
