We are currently hiring a Recovery Practitioner in Ilford on a 3-month contract basis. About the Role: Recovery Practitioner - Ilford
As a Recovery Practitioner, you will be vital in providing high-quality, person-centred support to individuals experiencing substance misuse issues. Your primary focus will be to deliver tailored assessments, develop recovery and aftercare plans, and facilitate evidence-based psychosocial interventions both one-to-one and in group settings. Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies, you'll help clients reduce harm, improve wellbeing, and access essential educational and employment services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering low-threshold, tailored services that respond to individual needs.
- Facilitating group and one-to-one evidence-based psychosocial interventions.
- Providing harm reduction advice, including needle exchange, overdose prevention, and blood-borne virus education.
- Supporting clients to access educational, employment, health, and wellbeing services.
- Engaging with volunteers, peer mentors, and service users to promote active participation.
- Identifying risks and ensuring safeguarding policies are adhered to.
- Contributing to multi-disciplinary review meetings.
- Maintaining accurate case records using designated systems, in compliance with GDPR and organisational policies.
- Working flexibly across multiple sites as required.
Candidate Responsibilities
The ideal candidate for the Recovery Practitioner - Ilford role will have:
- A passion for and understanding of working with substance misuse services or socially excluded groups.
- Proven ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in delivering assessments, care/support plans, and risk assessments.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and Digital Meeting Platforms.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management, and health and social care compliance.
- A relevant qualification: NVQ/QCF/RCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or a commitment to complete within one year of employment.
- Experience working with individuals with complex needs both on a one-to-one basis and in group settings.
