Recovery Practitioner - Newbury Job Overview
As a Recovery Practitioner - Newbury, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred drug and alcohol services, working closely with clients and their families to facilitate positive outcomes. Your role involves managing a caseload, conducting assessments, and delivering evidence-based interventions, including harm reduction, recovery planning, and aftercare. You will work across multiple sites, ensuring safeguarding and compliance standards are met, while actively engaging with multidisciplinary teams.
Candidate Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred and low-threshold services tailored to individual needs and preferences.
- Deliver evidence-based psychosocial interventions through one-to-one and group sessions.
- Offer harm reduction advice, including needle and syringe programmes, overdose prevention, and blood-borne virus interventions.
- Support clients in accessing education, employment, health, and wellbeing services.
- Facilitate and support volunteers, peer mentors, and service user representatives.
- Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring adherence to safeguarding policies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary review meetings and maintain accurate records using case management systems such as Nebula, System One, or Theseus.
- Work flexibly across multiple sites and adapt to changing service needs.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrable passion and understanding of substance misuse services or working with socially excluded groups.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and record information accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience delivering assessments, care/support plans, and risk assessments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital platforms.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management, and health and social care standards.
- NVQ/QCF/RCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to complete within one year.
