Job Title: Group Worker – Substance Misuse Service
Location: Hull
Pay Rate: Up to £24 (Umbrella), £21.20 (PAYE INC), £18.92 (PAYE EX)
Contract Type: Full time role, 3 month contract

Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced Group Worker to join a specialist Substance Misuse Service. The successful candidate will facilitate and deliver structured group-based interventions to individuals affected by drug and/or alcohol misuse, supporting them through treatment and recovery-focused programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver structured group sessions focused on recovery, relapse prevention, and harm reduction
• Engage and motivate service users within a group setting, promoting participation and peer support
• Support individuals in achieving their recovery goals through group-based interventions
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies
• Contribute to assessments, risk management, and recovery planning where required
• Maintain accurate and timely records in line with service requirements

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience working within the substance misuse sector
• Experience facilitating group work or structured interventions
• Strong understanding of drug and alcohol treatment and recovery approaches
• Excellent communication and engagement skills
• Ability to manage group dynamics and create a safe, inclusive environment

Desirable:

• Relevant qualification (e.g. Health & Social Care, Addiction Studies, or similar)
• Experience working with complex needs (mental health, homelessness, offending history)
