Registered Manager – Secure Children’s Home (East of England)
Are you an experienced children’s services professional looking for a senior leadership role? We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Registered Manager to oversee a secure children’s home in the East of England, near Peterborough. This exciting temporary contract offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people, ensuring they receive safe, therapeutic, and high-quality care.
Position Overview:
As a Registered Manager, you will hold full operational responsibility, leading a dedicated team to deliver outstanding care. You will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, foster continuous service improvement, and build strong relationships with external partners. This role is fully office-based with a contract length of 2 weeks, paying £400 per day via Umbrella.
Candidate Responsibilities for the Registered Manager include:
- Providing strategic and operational leadership for the secure children’s home.
- Ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and child-centred care.
- Maintaining full compliance with statutory regulations, safeguarding policies, and Ofsted standards.
- Leading, supporting, and developing a multidisciplinary team.
- Driving continuous service improvement, innovation, and quality assurance.
- Overseeing the management of budgets, staffing, and resources effectively.
- Promoting a therapeutic and trauma-informed approach tailored to individual children’s needs.
- Building strong, collaborative relationships with partner agencies and stakeholders.
- Representing the service at local and national levels with regulators and governmental bodies.
- Ensuring the service remains aligned with best practice standards and legislative requirements.
Ideal Candidate for the Registered Manager role will possess:
- Proven experience in senior leadership within children’s residential care or a secure children’s setting.
- Demonstrated success operating at Registered Manager, Head of Service, or equivalent level.
- Extensive knowledge of children’s homes regulations, safeguarding, and compliance.
- Ability to lead and develop large, diverse teams.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance, service improvement, and performance management.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
- Budget management experience.
- Passionate commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
