As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and development of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance are consistently achieved.
The Role As the Registered Manager, you will:
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Children's Home in line with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
- Ensure the home delivers exceptional, child-centred care that promotes positive outcomes for young people.
- Develop and implement service improvement plans to drive quality and continuous improvement.
- Provide effective leadership, supervision, coaching, and support to residential staff.
- Oversee recruitment, induction, training, and ongoing development of the team.
- Manage staffing levels and rotas to ensure the needs of young people are met at all times.
- Monitor and evaluate care plans, risk assessments, and casework to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Chair meetings, reviews, and professional discussions where required.
- Manage budgets effectively and ensure financial procedures are followed.
- Ensure all safeguarding, medication, health and safety, and regulatory requirements are fully met.
- Maintain excellent standards of recording and documentation to support inspections and audits.
- Act as the key point of contact for Ofsted and other regulatory bodies.
- Promote a culture where children and young people are encouraged to participate in decisions affecting their lives.
Essential Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years' experience at Deputy Manager level or above within a Children's Residential Setting.
- Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding legislation.
- Experience managing, developing, and motivating teams.
- Experience of budget management and resource planning.
- Experience involving children and young people in service planning and delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
- Competent IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England), or
- Social Care Foundation Degree (Level 5) or equivalent qualification, or
- Recognised Social Work Qualification.
