Are you an experienced Registered Manager ready to lead an Ofsted-regulated children’s service with passion, integrity, and ambition?

We are working with a dedicated care group who specialize in supporting children and young people with emotional and/or behavioral difficulties in Hythe, Kent. We are looking for a strong, values-driven leader to take full responsibility for the delivery, quality, and commercial success of a children’s residential service. This is a pivotal role for someone who is committed to achieving outstanding outcomes for children and young people while building a high-performing, compliant, and sustainable service.

About the Role As Registered Manager, you will:
  • Lead and manage an Ofsted-regulated children’s home in line with all legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Drive a culture of safeguarding, quality, and person-centred care
  • Inspire, develop, and retain a skilled and motivated staff team
  • Ensure the service achieves and maintains a minimum Ofsted ‘Good’ rating, with Outstanding as the goal
  • Take accountability for operational performance, financial viability, and service growth
  • Act as the key point of contact for stakeholders, professionals, and partners
  • Participate in the management on-call rota
You will report directly to the Operations Director and play a key role in the wider success of the organisation.
 Safeguarding & Compliance
  • Promote a strong safeguarding culture at all times
  • Ensure immediate action is taken where risks are identified
  • Maintain full compliance with Ofsted, Health & Safety, and organisational policies
  • Ensure mandatory training and compliance targets are consistently met
 Leadership & Quality
  • Champion excellent, outcome-focused, person-centred care
  • Lead by example with integrity, professionalism, and accountability
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff to achieve high performance
  • Embed continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice
  • Ensure robust quality assurance and evidence-based practice
 Business & Commercial Performance
  • Manage the service budget and financial viability
  • Promote and market the service positively
  • Lead on enquiries, referrals, and admissions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners
 Requirements To be considered, you must meet Regulation 28 of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, including:
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential childcare (within the last 5 years)
  • At least 1 year’s experience managing or supervising staff in a care setting
  • Eligible for full Ofsted registration
  • Strong leadership, financial, and decision-making skills
