An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Resettlement Officer to join a Local Authority Housing team in our client, supporting refugees and vulnerable households to successfully settle into the local community through tailored, person-centred support.
THE ROLE
As a Resettlement Officer, you will manage a caseload of refugee and resettled households, providing practical advice, welfare support and tenancy-related assistance to help individuals integrate into the community and sustain independent living.

  • Manage a varied caseload, delivering holistic support plans and carrying out regular welfare visits.
  • Support clients to access housing, healthcare, education, benefits, employment and other essential services.
  • Work closely with landlords, housing teams and partner agencies to secure and maintain suitable accommodation.
  • Carry out safeguarding assessments, make referrals where required and ensure vulnerable individuals receive appropriate support.
  • Liaise with interpreters and external organisations to ensure effective communication and service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate case records, complete reports and ensure compliance with safeguarding and data protection requirements.
  • Promote community cohesion by working collaboratively with local organisations, businesses and voluntary groups.
THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a Resettlement Officer, Housing Support, Refugee Support, Housing Officer or similar community-based support role, managing vulnerable clients and complex casework.
  • Experience managing a caseload and delivering person-centred support plans.
  • Previous experience supporting vulnerable individuals, refugees, migrants or similar client groups.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits, housing services or tenancy sustainment is desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential.

THE CONTRACT
WORKING HOURS: Part Time – 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday with flexibility between 9am and 5pm. Hybrid working available, including community visits, office working and home-based administration by agreement.
LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 4 Month Contract
RATE: The pay for the role is £20.15 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £17.18 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
