Service Care Solutions are currently working alongside a well-regarded Local Authority based in Darlington, who are seeking an experienced SEND Education Lawyer to join their legal team on a fully remote basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled education law professional to handle a varied caseload within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Job Title: SEND Education Lawyer
Location: Fully Remote (Local Authority based in Darlington)
Contract Length: 5 Months (with potential to extend)
Pay Rate: £50 – £60 per hour Umbrella (DOE & interview performance)
PAYE (Inc.Hol): £44.50 - £53.28 per hour

Key Responsibilities as a SEND Education Lawyer:
- Manage a caseload of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) matters on behalf of the Local Authority
- Provide expert legal advice on education law, with a particular focus on SEND Tribunal matters
- Represent the Local Authority in proceedings before the SEND Tribunal
- Draft legal documentation including pleadings, witness statements, and advice notes
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with relevant practising certificate
- Proven experience handling SEND and education law matters within a Local Authority setting
- Strong working knowledge of SEND Tribunal processes and procedures
- Ability to manage a busy caseload independently
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision
