Location: Nationwide (Remote/On-site as specified by client)
Pay Rate: Competitive, based on experience

Key Responsibilities of the SEND Officer

As a SEND Officer, your primary duties will include:

  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs in accordance with individual education plans
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of tailored support strategies
  • Liaising with teachers, parents, and external professionals to facilitate effective SEN provision
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress and adjusting support plans accordingly
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant policies and safeguarding practices
  • Contributing to mandatory reviews and meetings regarding SEN students’ progress

Candidate Requirements for the SEND Officer Role

To succeed as a SEND Officer, you should possess:

  • Proven experience working within Special Educational Needs (SEN) settings
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies, policies, and legal frameworks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of students and the school environment
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications related to SEN (preferred but not essential)
