Job Title: SEND Officer

Are you an experienced SEND Officer looking for an exciting contract opportunity? We are currently recruiting for 2 SEND Officers on a two-week contract. This role is a fantastic chance to work within a supportive team, contribute to meaningful education planning, and make a difference in the lives of children and families. If you have a solid background in Special Educational Needs (SEN) and are familiar with Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans, we want to hear from you!

About the SEND Officer Role

As a SEND Officer, your primary responsibility will be to produce high-quality Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) while working efficiently in a busy environment. Initially, you will join an annual review recovery/backlog team, where your goal will be to issue approximately 10 draft amended plans per week. Some cases may be complex and require additional time, but your expertise and knowledge of SEND legislation will ensure timely and compliant delivery.

Following the initial phase, the role will evolve to include working as a dedicated SEND Officer within a locality area. In this capacity, you will manage a small group of schools, processing and completing assessments and casework related to annual reviews and EHCP updates.

  • Maintain detailed and accurate case records
  • Support the review and recovery of backlog cases, contributing to the timely renewal of EHCPs

Candidate Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience working within a SEND team
  • Proven track record of producing high-quality EHCPs and amendments

  • Positive communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with schools and families
