We are currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Officer to support a busy local authority on a fully remote basis.
This role focuses on managing a caseload of annual reviews and completing the process of amending and issuing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The successful candidate will be confident producing high-quality, legally compliant plans within statutory timescales.

This role focuses on managing a caseload of annual reviews and completing the process of amending and issuing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The successful candidate will be confident producing high-quality, legally compliant plans within statutory timescales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of EHCP annual reviews from amendment through to finalisation
- Draft, amend, and issue EHCPs in line with statutory requirements
- Review professional reports and advice, incorporating these into plans
- Liaise with families, schools, and other professionals to agree amendments
- Identify and obtain any missing information required for completion
- Prepare cases for panel and finalise plans within an 8-week timeframe
- Deliver approximately 10 high-quality amendments per week
- Proven experience as a SEND Officer / EHCP Officer within a local authority
- Strong knowledge of EHCP legislation and statutory processes
- Ability to produce clear, concise, and legally compliant plans
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
- This is a fully remote role, however candidates will be required to collect equipment in person from the council’s office in Shefford at the start of the assignment
- Standard working hours are 9:00am – 5:00pm, with some flexibility (e.g. 8:00am – 4:00pm)
- Initial contract length is 3 months, with potential for extension
