Senior Business Support Officer (Band 6) – Contract Opportunity

Are you an experienced and highly organised Senior Business Support Officer looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a busy SEND service? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join a dynamic team, providing crucial administrative support to statutory children’s services. About the Senior Business Support Officer Role

As a Senior Business Support Officer, you will play a vital part in supporting Education, Health, and Care (EHC) processes and fostering effective multi-agency collaboration. Your responsibilities will include managing complex administrative workflows, ensuring statutory deadlines are consistently met, and maintaining accurate data to inform service delivery and decision-making. This position is ideal for someone with strong organisational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills, especially when engaging with families and professionals at all levels.

This contract is for 4 days per week, either Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, offering a flexible hybrid working model. The expectation is to work from the office when required, facilitating teamwork and effective communication.

Candidate Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage complex administrative processes relating to SEND services
  • Ensure all statutory deadlines are met confidently and efficiently
  • Maintain and update accurate data to support decision-making
  • Communicate effectively with families, educational providers, health professionals, and local authorities
  • Support the smooth operation of EHC planning and review meetings
  • Prioritise competing demands and adapt work plans accordingly
  • Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar support role within SEND or a statutory environment
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Effective communicator at all levels, with families and multi-agency partners
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload independently
  • Flexibility to work hybrid model, with availability to work from the office when needed
