Location: South West England (Hybrid – attendance at hearings required)
Rate: £420 per day (Umbrella, negotiable) (£325 PAYE per day)
Contract: 6-month interim

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Senior SEN Tribunal Officer to join a Local Authority SEND service in the South West on an interim basis. This is a senior-level position requiring significant experience in SENDIST tribunal appeals and the ability to lead on complex casework while supporting and developing Tribunal Team Officers.
This role is hybrid, however attendance at tribunal hearings, JADRs and CRHs is essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a caseload of SENDIST tribunal appeals
- Attend and represent the Local Authority at tribunal hearings, JADRs and Case Review Hearings (CRHs)
- Provide supervision, guidance, and leadership to Tribunal Team Officers
- Deliver training and development, including structured shadowing opportunities at hearings
- Support the Service Lead in ensuring effective tribunal strategy and case progression
- Oversee high-quality preparation of tribunal documentation and evidence bundles
- Extensive experience working on SENDIST appeals within a Local Authority or similar setting
- Proven ability to attend and present at tribunal hearings
- Experience managing or supervising Tribunal Officers or casework teams
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation, EHCP processes, and tribunal procedures
- Ability to lead, train, and develop staff within a busy SEND service
