Job Title: Senior Social Worker – i-ART (Front Door Team) Grade: 11 (Social & Healthcare Qualified)
Rate: £40 per hour (Umbrella)
Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday–Friday, early finish at 4:30pm on Fridays)
Location: Wyvern House, Winsford (with agreed flexible/home working)
Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Social Worker to join the i-ART (Integrated Access and Referral Team) Front Door service. This role is pivotal in ensuring timely, effective responses for vulnerable children, families, and adults through robust assessment, decision-making, and multi-agency collaboration.
The successful candidate will bring prior i-ART/front door experience and demonstrate strong safeguarding expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to manage complex cases.

The successful candidate will bring prior i-ART/front door experience and demonstrate strong safeguarding expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to manage complex cases.
Key Responsibilities Practice & Casework
- Operate as a senior social work practitioner supporting vulnerable children, families, and adults.
- Undertake assessments to determine thresholds and appropriate levels of intervention.
- Establish and maintain clear referral pathways to ensure effective service delivery.
- Lead and contribute to complex case management, including:
- Child protection matters
- Section 47 enquiries
- Cases involving vulnerable adults
- Provide guidance, advice, and consultation to team members on complex cases.
- Support practitioners and partner agencies in safeguarding and care planning.
- Ensure all work meets statutory requirements, safeguarding standards, and best practice guidelines.
- Act as a key member of the Front Door leadership team.
- Deputise for the Team Manager when required, including:
- Attending meetings
- Overseeing allocation of work
- Supporting operational management
- Supervise and appraise team members in line with council procedures.
- Promote high standards of practice, performance, and professional development.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records using electronic systems, including:
- Liquid Logic (Children’s & Adults’)
- ETAF
- Case management logs
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, departmental policies, and health & safety procedures.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with partner agencies and stakeholders.
- Provide advice and support to multi-agency professionals to reduce barriers to service delivery.
- Represent the service at local and national forums (e.g. safeguarding boards, operational groups).
- Support the Team Manager with statutory reporting and inspection preparation.
- Analyse performance data, audits, and feedback (including complaints).
- Contribute to service improvement and reporting to senior leadership.
- Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered).
- Significant post-qualification experience, including i-ART/front door team experience (essential).
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, thresholds, and statutory frameworks.
- Experience managing complex cases involving children and/or vulnerable adults.
- Proven ability to support staff, supervise practice, and contribute to leadership functions.
