The Role We are looking for a Senior Social Work Assistant to join Area Services, playing a key role in supporting social workers to safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable children and young people.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference, working at the heart of children’s services in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities  Casework & Support

  • Manage an allocated caseload under the guidance of a Team Manager or Social Worker
  • Provide practical, day-to-day support to children, young people, and families
Assessments & Safeguarding

  • Gather, analyse, and record information to support high-quality assessments
  • Ensure all work aligns with statutory responsibilities and safeguarding standards
Partnership Working

  • Work collaboratively with professionals and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes
  • Promote a joined-up, multi-agency approach
 Recording & Communication

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and reports
  • Communicate effectively with a range of audiences
 Professional Development

  • Take ownership of your learning and development
  • Stay up to date with legislation, policies, and best practice
What We’re Looking For  Experience working with children, young people, or families
 Strong communication and organisational skills
 Ability to analyse information and make informed decisions
 A collaborative, team-focused approach
 Commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes

Additional Information
  • Reporting to: Team Manager
  • DBS check required (role exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act)
