You will be instrumental in maintaining best practice, ensuring statutory compliance, and fostering a supportive environment for your team.
Candidate Responsibilities for the Social Work Manager – Children’s Social Care
- Lead and supervise a team of approximately 6 social workers within the Children in Our Care team
- Provide professional guidance and support to team members, fostering development and best practices
- Oversee case management to ensure timely and effective interventions for children subject to Care Orders
- Monitor team performance and implement strategies to improve service delivery
- Ensure compliance with local authority policies and statutory regulations
- Liaise with external agencies, families, and other stakeholders to promote positive outcomes for children
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for senior management and regulatory bodies
- Play an active role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children under your team’s care
- Qualified social worker registered with Social Work England
- Proven experience managing or supervising a social care team, preferably within Children’s Social Care
- Sound knowledge of child welfare legislation, safeguarding policies, and best practices
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage a busy caseload and lead a team in a fast-paced environment
- Competitive pay rate 36.61 LTD inclusive of holiday pay or 28.72 Paye excluding holiday pay
- Contract length: 17 weeks, with potential for extension
